General Board Rules
1. Be respectful to everyone on the site. If there is a problem contact the admin, if the admin are the problem contact the head admin and if all else fails and admin are abusing your signed contract to proboards (Which I guarantee none of you read, read it, they own your house ) contact proboards.
2. If you want more than one character you need to make separate accounts. You can make as many accounts you want. Just keep them active like the rest of us.
3. Each person can only RP one canon character, as in a notable deity, although you can have multiple custom characters.
4. No spamming, double posting, posting explicit mature content, etc.
5. Do not post or send a PM asking to be on the staff. Anyone who does this will not be considered for a staff position.
6. No excessive cursing. If you're the type of person who curses every other second in real life, get a hold of yourself and don't do it here.
7. Any announcement posted which states that there is a new rule for a specific forum will be followed, even if said rule isn't added in here immediately. It's still to be treated as though it were on this list.
8. No advertising in the cbox. There is an advertiseing board.
9. Any problems at all will not be taken care of in IC(In character) threads. They will be discussed in OOC(out of character) areas like on the miscellaneous board, on the cbox, or through PM. If you cannot resolve your problems there then PM a staff member.
10. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE STAFF. If there is a problem or dispute, discuss it with respect and courtesy, I can promise your side of things or idea will be heard out. If the conclusion on the matter is something that you do not like then to be blunt, that is life, perhaps a compromise can be made or perhaps this site isn't where you need to be. If another admin not allowing even the opportunity to discuss something then contact Sedaiyus.
11. NO ARGUING IN THE CBOX! (This goes for admins as well.) Shout and cuss in a PM, not in the Cbox. Logical and civilized discussions can take place in the cbox to resolve a disagreement, but there will be no full blown arguments or verbal fights breaking out on it.
12. Do not steal work from other proboards sites unless you get permission from the owner or their admin.
13. I have a zero tolerance policy for cyber bullying. If I find out through this site you somehow used information like a users email or name to go after someone even off this site then you will be banned, reported to proboards to prevent you from using other sites or services through them, and all your work you may have done here will be deleted with no ability for you to recover it.
Character Rules
1. Custom characters can be based on characters from other works of fiction, but they cannot be those characters themselves. For example, for a half vampire you cannot play Blade. For the son of Poseidon you cannot be Percy Jackson.
2. Wait for your character to be accepted before RPing.
3. No perfect custom characters or marysue characters. Everyone has to have a weakness of some sort no matter how powerful. Balance is everything.
4. Use a real person to depict your custom characters. You don't have to use famous celebs, they can be low key models, or some in the public eye some other way. Actual deities will be given a bit more leeway, though it is preferred if you have a human form they like to take if feasible. For any other kind of character, minus transformations, a real world depiction is needed. No anime, art sketched, or video game characters.
5. Currently there is a restriction on specific hybrids. Angel/Demon hybrids require permission and you cannot use anything above a Greater Demon. Gods/Angels or Gods/Demons also require permission, Demi-gods/Angels or Demi-gods/Demons are fine. There will be no turned Demi-God/Vampire or Demi-God/Werewolf as the assumption is their divinity protects them from the curse/virus.
RP Rules
1. Do not Godmodd
Passive Godmodding
Godmoding can occur when a character describes an event or a series of events he or she has taken against another character or interactive object, most often with the purpose of rescinding negative effects previously encountered or granting some other effect inconsistent with an innocent view of the narrative. Godmoding is thus often used like a "Get Out of Jail Free card" when things don't go the way a player wants, rather than working with previously unfolded events. It is also used to describe the act of creating or playing with an invincible character or unbreakable armor, limitless power, etc.
Active Godmodding
Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states, "A strikes B and B takes damage", they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, "B misses A completely, and strikes C instead."
Similarly, controlling characters that belong to someone else is also a form of godmoding.
* Player A: Character A punches Character B.
* Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back.
2. Use common sense when interacting with other characters and situations. For example a human cannot take on a lycan in hand to hand combat and expect to win. Follow the power comparison for an idea of where you stand.
3. You cannot kill another players character unless they give you permission.
4. You may post in multiple threads at a time, the threads must take place at different time periods IC, the gods prevent time travel.
5. Posts should be a minimal of 1 paragraph. 4-5 sentences is easy, 300 words isn't allot to ask, describe your emotions, facial expression, thoughts, and what you might say & describe how you said it. If you need to wait for your muse or work on half and go back to it later then that is a good strategy, but one or two liners is not okay.
6. If someone doesn't have a member group and posts somewhere out of the Out of Character area, Do not reply to their post. Report this to a Staff.
7. Spelling, Grammar, and effort put into presenting your posts. This rule will not be actively enforced with a penalty of any sort, but it is a courtesy thing. At minimum spell check for sure, google chrome even has this built into the browser. Sometimes you are thinking faster than you type and don't notice things and sometimes you type out something that is spelled right but is the wrong word but looks close so you miss it, it is fine but try to make sure we understand the post being made.
