Camus came from a long line of druids that served the Seelie Court as ambassadors, advisers, and knights. Camus had an affinity for the Druid arts and learn fast, adapt quickly, and remember what he read and saw with uncanny clarity which sped up his societal progression. He passed every test thrown at him at the age of 20 and then was allowed to serve as a soldier in Queen Titania and King Oberon's army. After surviving a 5-year campaign against imposing Unseelie forces and displaying remarkable heroics not usual for a common soldier as young as himself, Camus was made an honorary knight of the court. Camus's parents with his father being a personal guard to King Oberon himself and his mother a trusted maiden of Queen Titania were over joyed at his success. Their only other child, Camus's sister Tolitha had disappeared into the mortal realm and had been missing for a century. Camus never got a chance to meet her but despite failed attempts made already swore that he would figure out what had happened to her whether it was good or bad. Centuries passed, and Camus only became more skilled in both combat and magic.
Camus learned to channel the strength and power of the bear and could communicate with most animals found in nature in both his realm and the mortal realm and learned how to make an herbal concoction or powder capable of just about anything. An expert swordsman among his own kind and master hunter Camus often found himself between his own world and duties to the Court and the mortal world searching for his sister. Because of this he grew accustom to many human habits, practices, and customs and learned a great deal on how to traverse and find aid. Overall Camus detests the mortal world as he has found their destruction of nature to be unforgivable and because of such heavy incorporation of iron in just about everything humans do, including bathing in iron enriched waters, and riding around big metal toxic vehicles. But the people themselves were fascinating to Camus, especially the Mystics. Their use of magic though archaic to what Camus was used to, was interesting and effective enough to do great feats. Camus upon his visits has learned to stay close to rain forests, dense jungles, and for more populated areas he stays in camping areas. Though for short duration's, being in large cities can make him sick, and he prefers smaller rural areas to explore and investigate. He finds people to help should a lead require entry into major cities or towns.
Back in his own realm Camus as of late, due to centuries of little success, has been pressured by his parents to give up his search and focus on his duties to the courts to advance even further. Camus has since been torn between his honor bound oath to find his sister and his honor bound oath to serve the court. Camus Heleberos knew better than to keep a portal open for very long between his world and the mortal world. It attracted the attention of dark forces. However, his compatriots were ambushed just as they arrived by dark fae. They were greatly outnumbered, their best bet would be to go through the portal and close it, then return from another location. Camus held the portal open as the others fought their way to it. Already Camus could feel the forest whispering him of the evil that approached. Camus called out in his tongue "We cannot hold the portal open any longer, we must go now!" With some risky acrobatics and a few unavoidable wounds suffered, his comrades made it to the portal leaping through. Camus jumped through behind them and upon entering the woods of the mortal world he began closing it. But it was too late, the dark force Camus sensed sprang free along with a single Dark Fae just seconds before the portal closed. The black smoke engulfed the Dark Fae and blackened his eyes, it was no long just an enemy, but a monster now; a demon.
One of Camus's friends rushed the demon but was hurled back telekinetically. The three remaining circled the demon chanting a spell while Camus reached down to the ground and grabbed the hilt of a fae forged blade and pulled it up and at ready. Roots from the nearby trees flew up from under the demon and wrapped around its legs holding it in place. The demons struggled to get free but could not. The three Fae chanted again, and thorns sprouted from the roots, impaling the demon with painful toxins that would paralyze and weaken it. Camus now directly behind the demon with one swift thrust, impaled the demon. The blade glowed dark as if it absorbed the demon. Camus then blade first, pushed the sword into the ground, and the ground to the blade. Camus ensured his brother in arms were not fatally injured and provided a small elixir, a sip each, that would numb the pain and heal their wounds within the hour. Sealing what wounds, they had with a clay like substance coated in an herbal remedy, they then moved on. The Fae angry at the situation they were put in and how it was handled, blaming Camus whom they challenged to a duel, all four against just Camus. Camus stated conditions were if he had won then the next time he went to search for his sister then they would help. If Camus lost, then he had to do their knightly chores and guard duty for a month.
Camus won with minor difficulty and thus their oaths had to be fulfilled. Though thankful for company of his own kin, Camus wondered if he would have been better off on his own. His fellow knights were not as accustomed to the mortal realm as he was, and he might end up spending more time babysitting them from the dangers and proper etiquette expected of them than making progress on his investigation. None the less, they had to find a different way back home anyways, so Camus began their journey in the woods they were in, walking a path the wilds pulling at him along the way to a different portal location they could open home. Once found, they would begin where Camus left off his last visit.
